Hope ~ Day 7 ~ 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes

This post is part of the October 2018 Edition of 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes. I hope you”ll join me in seeing where each prompt takes us.
P.S. Just so you know, I’m finding it difficult to stick to five minutes (**) and it may take me longer than the 31 days to finish all the prompts. Not easy for this rule follower!

“And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.” Hebrews 12:2a (NLT) / Pixabay

A Work In Progress

I’d hoped by now to be the one
Thought wise beyond my years
To have all the answers
And conquered all my fears.

I’d hoped by now to understand
The plan prepared for me.
Able to step out of my comfort zone
And finally feel free.

I’d hoped by now to believe
I’m brave enough to do
Everything that’s needed
To make my dreams come true.**

I’d hoped by now to count it joy
In good times and in need.
To pray instead of worry.
Follow not try to lead.

It’s becoming quite apparent
I’m not yet who I hope to be.
Simply a work in progress
On my way to victory.

So I’ll run with endurance
The race God’s set for me
And fix my eyes on Jesus
UntilĀ His hope is all I see.
