Do It Now ~ Five Minute Friday

“How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog-it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.” James 4:14 (NLT)

Do It Now

Someday, I’m going to forgive him….

Do it now!

Someday, I’m going to tell her how much she means to me…..

Do it now!

Someday, I’m going to do more for my church…..

Do it now!

Someday, I’m going to publish a children’s book…..

Do it now!

Someday, I’m going to be a better Christian, daughter, wife, mother, MiMi, friend…..

Do it now!

Someday, I’m going to stop striving for perfection, control, attention, worth…..

Do it now!

Someday, I’m going to live as the one God designed me to be, not who I see in the mirror…..

Do it now!

Someday, I’m going to trust….

Do it now!

Someday, I’m going to stop saying someday…..

Do it now!

Someday I’m going to  _________….

For whatever you’ve filled in the blank with, join me in saying:

Do it NOW!

Living in this unexpected, uncertain time has already taught me many things. I’m sure it’s the same for you. One of the most significant for me, is that we don’t know what the future holds, not even tomorrow!  And here’s the funny thing, I’ve never known; and yet somehow, I thought, and maybe you have too, that I did. So in the midst of nothing but the unknown, I’m challenging myself to learn to stop being a “someday” gal and instead, live seeking God’s direction and then: Do it now!
Anyone want to join me?

“Never boast about tomorrow. You don’t know what will happen between now and then.”
Proverbs 27:1 (GNT)

The prompt this week at http://www.fiveminutefriday.com is “Now”. Pretty timely right? I’d love for you to share in the comments so things you want to do now instead of someday. Hope you know how much I appreciate you joining me here and if you’d like to read more offerings just click on the link above. God Bless and stay safe!

I’ll join you! I’m really good at putting things off by prioritizing them…which is really a cop-out. Now is a great time to do things–even difficult things. It feels so much better when I don’t put things off!

I would love to get down to it,
get it done that would be great!
But I think I maybe blew it,
and see now it’s much too late.
I had dreams that scaled the sky,
I had dreams but was too slow,
and as I am marked to die,
I just have to let them go.
    But it’s really all OK,
    and I can’t say that I mind,
’cause, my friend, along the way
    I was privileged to find
that in spite of my star-crosses
what was vital was the process.

Thank you for this post and the challenge ” to learn to stop being a “someday” gal and instead, live seeking God’s direction and then: Do it now!” May God help us all to so do. Visiting from FMF.

I sure need God’s help because “someday” is my normal response. Hope I’m learning to change that now! Thank you for your kind words Esther! They mean a lot to me!

I’m with ya g/f! I woke this morning thinking I need to thank my siblings and extended family for taking care of mom as I AM so thankful she has all the help she needs as I can’t be there. So made some phone calls just to say thank you and acknowledge their effort… She takes a lot of effort. ha Did it now! Happy Palm Sunday and Hosannah in the Highest! Praise the Lord and pass the food! 😀

Good girl! Keep making those calls! I think now of people I wish I’d thanked but they’ve already passed and my chance is gone. I want to do better! Thanks for taking your time to stop in! To God be the glory!
